Just in time for the midterm elections, the folks over at The Foundryare back with the latest installment of Red Tape Rising.
The new report (aptly subtitled, Obama’s Torrent of New Regulation) reveals that in fiscal year 2010, “an unprecedented 43 major new regulations were imposed by Washington.” According to the agencies issuing the regulations, the cost of the new regs alone “topped $26.5 billion, far more than any other year for which records are available.” To put it another way, ”fiscal 2010 saw the largest increase in regulatory burdens placed on the U.S. economy in the nation’s recorded regulatory history.”
